Time to Make a Change

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government and to provide new guards for their future security.”  These words were written by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence.  He meant that that freedom was a God given right, but it was our duty as citizens to take it upon ourselves to safeguard our own liberty.  Our government continues down a very slippery road from which there is no return.  Government spending and control over our lives is continuing down this path.  The “Stimulus Bill” that has done nothing to help the economy but added billions in new debt, the “Cap and Spend” bill which is the largest tax increase in the history of the world.  This bill will increase the amount of money you spend on utilities, tell you what kind of vehicle to drive, can prevent you from selling your house, and will cause thousands of people to lose their jobs when companies decide to move overseas to escape tighter regulations here in the U.S.  By the way this bill will also cost several coal producing states, example West Virginia and Kentucky thousand of coal mining jobs.  This bill does nothing to help the environment except to make Al Gore feel better, and anyone who has a brain knows that human caused “Global Climate Change” has never been proven and is, in my opinion, junk science.  These bills will make it tougher for our nation to come out of these current recession which will give the liberals more excuse to pass new laws which will further government control of business, our freedoms and lives.  This will also saddle our children with a out of control debt, excessive taxes, and a nation partially owned by Chinese banks.  Also a nation where the government controls the major automobile companies, major banks, and our health care industry.  Just ask yourself this question; When has anything the government has run, ever been done successfully, or with any common sense.  It  scares me to think what else this government is capable of.
Also the President is going overseas and telling the world that despite seventy six percent of Americans call themselves Christians that we are no longer a Christian nation and calling a large Muslim nation.  This scares me, where are his loyalties?
As Thomas Jefferson said in the Declaration of Independence, maybe we need to change our government.  By this, I mean as I have said before that maybe some states should consider secession and forming a new nation.  Georgia’s State Legislature has already considered this last month and I call on all liberty and freedom loving people to call on their states to consider the same.  Let us send a message that began with the Tax Day tea parties, that we Americans (especially those from the south) are sick and tired of being ruled by California and New England liberals, we are Christians, we are freedom lovers, we are tired of being taxed too death, and are tired of the government spending our children’ inheritance before we can even make it.  Thank you and God bless West Virginia.

What Constitution?

The way Nancy Pelosi and President Obama are tearing through the Constitution you have to wonder what’s next. First the “Pork Package” which steps all over states’ rights, then the vote to give a full voting representative in the House for D.C. This is a clear violation of the Constitution and what is funny is that during the debate, the democrats even admitted that this was unconstitutional but they didn’t care.

What is next? My personal opinion is either the 1st or 2nd Amendments. They keep talking about in the senate about reinstating the “Fairness Doctrine”. This states that all political opinions must be balanced out with the opposite side getting equal time. This could be the death of talk radio and possibly Fox News. I wonder though if the same standards of fairness would have to be observed by CNN, MSNBC, NBC, or the other networks who clearly show liberal bias on a daily basis. I doubt it would be. So where would conservatives be able to expose the lies and deceptions of Pelosi and Obama? NO WHERE!! This would serve our new dictators just fine. They could continue to destroy our nation and lead us down the path to socialism and totalitarianism and no one would be the wiser. (Of course with the stupidity of most of our nation, if it wasn’t put on American Idol or spoken by a celebrity no one would know about it) Now of course, I hear Obama is talking about gun control. Attorney General Holder says we need a semi-automatic gun ban to help stop the violence in Mexico because the drug dealers are buying weapons in the U.S. and then smuggling them down to Mexico. Huh!! I thought every body in Mexico was trying to come across the border just looking for a better life? Isn’t that what the liberals tell us when we talk about stopping illegal immigration? I’m confused. This is just another excuse to silence the American people and to make sure we can’t do anything to stop these two. If we as the American people are not vigilant we could wake up in NAZI Germany or communist China. Don’t kid yourself, when the government stops obeying the laws, who is going to stop them.

State Sovereignty

I find the way our current government likes to skirt around the Constitution just down right an insult to the people of this nation and especially to the founding fathers. I truly believe that our government has lost it’s moral and legal authority to govern. Thomas Jefferson wrote in his day that it is the right of the people when the government intrudes on the rights of the people and loses said moral authority then they can replace the government with one who has maintains their rights and possesses that moral authority.

I’m impressed that there are some states are talking about refusing money from the “Pork Bill” AKA the Stimulus Package. This package, if you get a chance to read it, is filled with nothing but pork for loyal liberal lawmakers. It may do some stimulating of the economy for a few months with some government building projects, but does nothing to fix the economy. Note to liberals, tax breaks for small businesses to be able to hire more people will fix the economy. Unfortunately, I believe in the end these brave states will cave to the federal government like they always do and take the money. Since Abe Lincoln gutted states’ rights after the War for Southern Independence, states always give in to the blackmail and bribery of the feds. I was encouraged to hear that twenty six states are considering measures reaffirming their state sovereignty. If these states are firm in their convictions and hold true maybe we can begin to break the backs of the liberal who are leading our nation to disaster. We must all write letters to editors and call our state reps to follow through with these bills and strike a blow for states’ rights.

High Water Mark of Conservatives

High Water Mark of Conservatism

On July 3rd, 1863, during Pickett’s Charge, a few Confederate soldiers made it to the stonewall that protected the Union soldiers. This part of the battle has been called the high water mark of the Confederacy. I believe that in 2004, we saw the high water mark of conservatism. On election day in November 2004, President George Bush defeated Senator John Kerry and the Republicans held on to majorities in both houses of Congress. Conservatives and conservative values were the reason for this overwhelming victory. Christian conservatives helped win the day by voting for family values, lower taxes, security, less government. Around the country conservatives rejoiced at this victory, the Democrats seemed in disarray and doomed to stay the minority party. The economy was good and oil prices were stable.

Soon after this victory, things in Iraq seemed to go bad as the insurgency got worse and many American soldiers died. After this all the news could talk about was the violence in Iraq and how many American soldiers died each day. Suddenly, the Democrats found the issue they have been looking for. About the same time a hurricane hit New Orleans and did lots of damage, due to the incompetence of Louisiana’s governor and the mayor of New Orleans, (both Democrats) aid was slow in coming to these people. The media and the Democrats were able to pin the blame on the federal government and specifically on President Bush. (Some even blame the President for the Hurricane) The Democrats and their willing accomplices in the media were able to use these two issues to ride too congressional control in the 2006 elections.

Since the Democrats took charge in 2006, food and fuel prices have doubled and they refuse to help. The economy has slowed due to bills they have pushed through or have refused to act upon. At the same time the US housing crisis has hurt the economy so I don’t blame them completely, however they could have helped. Now the media has anointed Barak Obama to be our next President and the American people are now so convinced of the evilness of George Bush and the Republicans that the Republicans are going to lose more seats in congress even though congress has the lowest approval rating in history.

I guess my point is that we as conservatives are finished in this country. While polls show that most American by nature are fiscally and socially conservative, the American people have decided that values don’t matter and that change in whatever form it comes in will be better. Unfortunately for the nation the damage done by President Obama and his liberal congress will probably be permanently damaging to the economy and our security. The sad part is that the media and the Democrats will find a way to blame the Republicans and the Americans who know more about American Idol than politics will march willingly to the continued slaughter of our nation’s freedoms and ideals.

JC Watts for Vice President

J.C. Watts for vice-president

I would like to push a new idea for Senator McCain for his vice-presidential choice. J.C. Watts is a preacher, a Christian conservative, former star quarterback at Oklahoma, and former congressmen from Oklahoma. He built quite a good conservative reputation while in congress in the 90’s and early 2000’s. He would help solidify the conservative base of the south and mid-west. He could even help make in-roads into the African American community as he himself is an African American. I do however only mention that he is black because someone else is bound to mention it. He has fine credentials and I believe if he would be willing to come out of retirement and take the job he could put Senator McCain over the top.

Time for a new Revolution?

Time for a Revolution

On July 4th, 1776, men from all around the American colonies met in Philadelphia to sign the Declaration of Independence. These men along with a number of their fellow colonist felt that the control of the British government had gotten to be too much of a hardship and they felt as if they had no control of their own destiny or lives. The British government routinely passed new taxes and tariffs and laws on the colonist. When colonist government officials would protest they would be removed, replaced and sometimes arrested. The same men who wrote and signed the Declaration become the early leaders of the new government after Independence from Britain. They wrote another document that was going to form a new type of government the world had never seen. This document known as the US Constitution framed the government we still use today. These brave and knowledgeable men however would be shocked to see what this government has become today, but more on that later.

In December of 1860, South Carolina seceded from the U.S. union. Within the next seven months, several other states had joined the new Confederate States of America. These states left the U.S. for several reasons, slavery was a big reason but by far, not the only reason or the most important. Many in the south felt their very way of life were in peril. They were upset about over protective tariffs and taxes being imposed on them by the bigger more powerful northern states. (Sound familiar) Also, they were concerned that as more non-agricultural areas were added to the union then these taxes and tariffs would be imposed and their small amount of power in the senate would be diminished to where they would be completely under the power of other states and they figured from events of the past forty years of congressional and Supreme Court rulings had began to reinforce federal power and lowering state’s rights. This made them feel as though they had no control over their own destiny and futures. (Sounds familiar) Unfortunately for states’ rights they lost the war and the power of the federal government grew to what it is today.

Fast forward to 2008. Everyday more and more of our rights are taken away. First the Supreme Court took away prayer in schools and continues to erode any mention of Christianity in schools or public places. They do this based on a false pretense of the so called “Separation Doctrine”. This is based on a single letter that Thomas Jefferson sent to a Bishop in answer to a question of government interference in religion. When the Constitution was ratified, many states had official religions. The wording of the First Amendment clearly says congress, not any mention of the states. Any person who studies the Constitution will agree that when the document says congress it means clearly the legislative branch of the federal government. When the Constitution says state it means the individual states. So clearly from this, then local communities and states have the right to have public displays of Christianity. However as we all know, this is not the case. Another important part of the First Amendment is the free speech part, this has been trampled on by the Campaign Finance laws of a few years ago. Another threat to this is the Fairness Doctrine which affects radio and TV shows. The democrats want to enact this to stop conservative talk shows from being on the air by requiring stations to air an equal amount of the other side. However liberal talk radio has failed except for Air America which is constantly on life support. My question is, will CNN, NBC,CBS, and ABC news be required to give conservatives an equal chance after their liberal anchors give their version of the news each night. Also with the possible election of Barak Obama to the Presidency with the democrats continuing to hold to congress could put into jeopardy the Second Amendment rights to gun ownership, as could the Supreme Court ruling on D.C.’s gun ban. This could lead to the federal government taking away all our guns which would make the liberal elite happy since us rural folk have to have our guns and God to hold onto. The U.S. Senate is also debating a global warming bill that could severely damage the economy and lead to even higher energy cost and huge new taxes. Now imagine a federal government who over taxes you, over regulates your life, (they want to outlaw SUVs and trucks), and even tells you what to eat. Does any one else besides me see the pattern here? The liberal elites want control of our children, what we can drive, what we can eat, and how about soon where we can live. This is a scary prospect for the nation that was founded on freedom from government being the most important God given right! Also lets look at the fact that the liberals are willing to destroy our economy by not allowing domestic oil drilling or liquefied coal. They will bow to their special interests and friends and ignore the pleading of the people of the nation for relief at the gas pumps. It seems that a few senator and congressman from a few states will try and control the rest of the nation and the will of the majority be damned. I will leave you with my favorite part of the Declaration of Independence and you draw your own conclusions of it’s meaning.

Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizations its power in such form, as to them shall most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

A Modest Energy Proposal

A Modest Energy Policy Proposal

I am just a veterinarian with very little economic or political experience outside of running a successful business for six years, however I have thought long and hard about an energy bill for the US to solve the current crisis. So, please bear with me a let me know who would support this.

First, we must solve the gasoline and diesel crisis. The best ways to do this would be by opening older capped wells in the United States, begin drilling in ANWAR, North Dakota, and increase drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and the Carolinas. I know everyone is convinced that this will not help with the price of oil on the open market, but please bare with me. This increased drilling would have to be coupled with a 10% increase in the size and capacity of our current refineries without having to build new ones. Next we would have to unfortunately put price controls on oil or not put our domestic oil on the open market. As much as I hate any government interference in private industry, this would be necessary in the short term. While adding this extra oil won’t completely solve the problem, we can fill in the gaps with liquefied coal. This can be done very safely and according to new research after the refining process the liquefied coal actually has less carbon emissions then oil based gasoline. The U.S. Air Force recently announced that they are going to begin using this technology for jet and diesel fuel and not rely on oil based products. If the government can do this, then why can’t this be used for civilian use? By using these two products we can lessen our use of ethanol and begin bringing back down the price of feed corn which will lower the price of meat and corn based products. I have to admit I used to be on the ethanol band wagon, but now I see the error of my ways. I still believe in using bio-diesel which is recycled materials. I believe by doing these three simple ideas, we could quickly bring down gas and diesel prices, which then in turn would bring down food and other retail prices and begin bringing us out of the recession. Now I realize that doesn’t break us of our oil dependency, but we should put a time limit on using these resources. I recommend putting a ten to twenty year limit on drilling and then only use the coal if needed afterwards. This gives us time to develop alternative sources such as hydrogen powered cars. I understand that the major car makers say they need ten years to perfect hydrogen fuel cells for cars. This would also give us time to put the hydrogen infrastructure in place. We need time to build refineries and put pipelines and pumps at fuel stations throughout the nation. Also in these ten years we can give a large government prize for developing safer hydrogen fuel cells or other alternative energy. I don’t mean government research grants which have proven to be inefficient and unproductive or tax credits which don’t give incentive to make new discoveries, but a cash prize to inventors who make big breakthroughs in new energy sources. Newt Gingrich really deserves credit for this idea in his new book he chronicles why cash prizes are better then grants.

As far a producing electricity, I would suggest shutting down all oil fueled electric plants and begin replacing them with nuclear, solar and cleaner coal facilities. The cleaner coal plants that pump the sulfur and carbon emissions into the ground where they are filtered by the earth before coming into the atmosphere is a great idea and would help with green house gas problems. Windmill farms on federal grazing areas in the Midwest could help as well. With new highly efficient solar panels for houses, people could produce a large amount of their own electricity and lower the need for bigger plants.

I believe these common sense ideas could go a long way to solving a lot of our national problems while not endangering the environment. Please give me feed back and lets start a debate. We the people have to lead this charge because congress and our government as a whole are completely inept and too dependent on special interest groups and their money.

Presidential Idol

Presidential Idol

I have an idea to make sure that everyone in America gets a fair shot to vote for President in both primaries and the general election. This would also put the contest into a form which the American people would understand.

First we create a new show (probably on FOX) called Presidential Idol. In March of an election year we have a week of 2hour shows. The first four nights rotate two for Democrats and two for Republicans. The last night we have the three major third parties share one show. (Libertarians, Greens, and Constitution Parties) On each show, each candidate gets an equal amount of time to present his case, to audition as it were for the job. After the first set of shows people then vote in an on-line and phone-in primary. Each party gets a pin number sent to it’s registered voters and each can only vote in his/her own primary one time. The technology to regulate this already exists with on-line primaries. Independents can vote for any party they want.

After the primaries, then we have a two month period of campaigning and debates then reassemble the five candidates for another week of speeches (auditions) and one big debate. Then we have our national vote and we have a new President.

I truly believe in American society today, this idea would work great and since most elections are more popularity contest then about ideas and issues then we can be spared the usual rhetoric. This would also plicate the lazy American culture and allow them to vote without having to leave their couches.

United States of Stupidity

I keep reading how congress's approval rating is at 16%, a new record low.  Then I read how the Republicans expect to lose more seats in the Senate and House in the fall.  Now last time I checked the democrats control both the Senate and the House.  Also I thought that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have completely controlled both houses like little dictators.  Since the democrats took over congress, gas prices have nearly doubled, the economy has tanked and people's faith in government has fallen to new lows.  Now I was just wondering how if the democrats control congress and all these things have happened because of congress's actions and non-actions, then how can people blame Republicans.  Any time they bring any thing up, it never reaches the floor thanks to Pelosi and Reid.  Now, I realize that most Americans can't even identify Pelosi or Reid because they get their news from John Stewart and Saturday Night Live, but at least think if your going to vote, you should get the facts.  However in this country these are acceptable ways of getting news and opinion.  This is really sad.  The founding fathers would be ashamed of what this nation has become.  Thomas Jefferson believed in the people of this nation and in their ability to handle voting.  We, as the caretakers of the democracy, have a duty to keep a check on the federal government and make sure they stay honest and do the bidding of the people.  Our government stoped doing that a long time ago and it only continues to get worse.  The Declaration of Independence has a line that talks about how the American people have a duty to stand up and change the government when it longer has the ability or honesty to lead.  I believe our government is getting close to that now but to many people are unwilling or unable to see this and I'm afraid that our nation may cease to exist not only as a powerful nation but maybe a nation all together.  I hope that stops the laughter and gets people to think seriously about our nation's problems.  Thank you and god bless.

Gas Prices and Two Easy Solutions

As world wide oil prices double and no one in government seems willing or able to help in this election year, I offer two solutions to help drop at least gas prices in the U.S.  One solution would be the obvious one, which is to drill in ANWAR in Alaska and off the coast in the Carolinas and Gulf Coast.  This would offer within a few years enough oil to take care of ourselves without worrying about buying oil from Arabs and that idiot Chavez.  This oil would last us until we could perfect new technologies like hydrogen and ethanol.  The other solution would be gas from coal.  We have the technology to take coal and turn it into gasoline.  In my home state of West Virginia alone we have enough coal to supply the country for 300 years.  You may ask why we as a nation don't use either one of these resources.  The answer is liberal environmental wackos.  I believe in both taking care of and protecting the environment and I believe that we can do that and have our fuel.  The liberal democrats and their special interest groups will hold congressional hearings and shake their fingers at oil execs and make big speeches about big oil and CNN and Fox will be right there to show the highlights except when the oil companies offer these alternatives then the cameras are off and no one hears about it.  Aftere all their speeches one democrat from Michigan even suggested that the federal government raise the gas tax by 50 cents a gallon.  Everyone is concerned about global warming, well responsible scientists are starting to point out that the earth is actually cooling down now, maybe the threat was real and now is over or maybe GOD KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING WHEN HE CREATED THE EARTH!  I personally am hoping that maybe our home state will come to their senses and build coal gasoline refineries in the state ( This could also help with unemployment problems in the state) and maybe even a bio-diesel plant to help out truckers.  I wonder if the democrats really want to have a bad recession and if gas and diesel prices don't come down then we will have a bad one soon.  Come November when you go to vote and stop and pay $4.00 for gas remember to thank a democrat and send them back home and out of state houses and congress.  If not, you can begin to kiss our nation's security and economy and YOUR JOB goodbye.

No Longer Proud and A Vote of No Confidence

Michelle Obama has been bad mouthed over the last few days about her comment on finally being proud to be an American.  I have to say I believe the opposite of Mrs. Obama.  I am no longer proud to be an American.  Let me tell you why.  Come November we will go to the polls to elect a new President, House of Representives, and 35 Senators.  I am convinced no matter who we elect or in what combination of parties that the government will not change and will not do much to help Americans except for their typical welfare give aways and home bound pork projects.  Of course to pay for these things there will have to be more debt spending and tax increases on the "Wealthy", which usually means on working people who get and up and work everyday and don't ask for government handouts.  Meanwhile, those of us out working will have to pay high gas prices to get to work because no matter what a politician says, they will do NOTHING to decrease our burden on foreign oil either by drilling in Alaska or off shore in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico.  Even if John McCain and the Republicans do manage to win the White House and Congress back, the democrats and their liberal special interest groups will never allow the drilling to happen.  On the other hand the Republicans will never put forth the proper funding to find alternative sources of energy.  Newt Gringrich has made a good point in his new book and in speechs that the best way to fix the energy problem is to offer a large cash prize to the person who can invent the next great source of energy and that this would produce faster results then government grants.  My wife has made a good point, we would only have to drill in Alaska for ten years while new energy sources are found.  The problem is that no one in government will do that because the U.S. automakers and oil companies would lobby against that and congressmen and women don't want to give up their nice "gifts" from these powerful lobbists.  It is also sad that our govenment condemns corrupt governments around the world and at the same time our government for the most part is just as corrupt if not worse.  If you are somebody who believes that our federal government and officials are not corrupt and dishonest and don't have the nation's best interest at heart and are only out for themselves, then please e-mail me.  I would love to hear from people like you because I can get you a good deal on ocean front property in Arizona.
I guess that none of this will matter any way.  Barak Obama is going to win the Presidency in a landslide because John McCain is a terrible candidate and the young people of this nation will flock to vote for Obama because he is "young and hip" and it is the "in" thing to do by voting for him.  Well, at least when he is elected and we become an Islamic Republic, the crime rates may go down.
I guess in conclusion, when I go to vote in November, I will be voting a vote of No Confidence in our government and hope other Americans will join me and then we can start the process of true government change.  Thank you and god bless.

Lesser of Two Evils

I am a Reagan conservative, a Christian conservative, and a Southern conservative.  I could make Rush Limbaugh look like a socialist with some of my beliefs.  I say that to say we need to as conservatives get behind John McCain in this Presidential election.  I was a supporter of Fred Thompson and after he left the race, I became a Mike Huckabee supporter.  However, I see that the chance for Mike to win is low and we need to get behind one candidate while the democrats continue to fight amongst themselves.  If we get behind John McCain now, we can capture some momentum and hope that the democrat nomination turns into a nasty fight at their convention.  Maybe we even get lucky and the democrat party splits for the election and we can cruise to victory.  However on the other hand if we are not careful, we could split also and hand the White House to Hillary or Obama.  Those thoughts scare me!  I know there are conservatives who worry if John McCain is a true conservative.  He has a mixed voting record, but he has the right credentials to be President and maybe we can elect a Republican congress to control him.  I do believe that he has to take a strong southern conservative to be his Vice-President.  My suggestions would be; Mike Huckabee, Mark Sanford, or Fred Thompson.  I ask that we think of our nation first and all Republicans come together and support John McCain for President and remember that sometimes we need to vote the lesser of two evils.  My advice to Rush,Laura, and other radio hosts is to either get behind a semi-conservative or face the prospect of a socialist or worse as our President.  I do wonder in Rush and Laura's cases if there motivation is more ratings then the nation they claim to serve.  Think about it they get better ratings when the democrats are in charge and they can complain about everything.  Something to ponder before you listen to their advice and claims they will vote democrat rather then McCain. Think about it!

True Reagan Conservative

As South Carolina prepares to vote in the republican primary, I hope that they see the big picture and responsibility that they carry.  They are the first in the south primary, a chance to see how true conservatives will vote.  I say that because most true Reagan conservatives are found in the south.  You may find fiscal and foreign policy conservatives in the north and midwest, but the so called Reagan conservatives, social, fiscal, and foreign policy are only found in the south.  You also have conservative democrats in the south, the so called Reagan Democrats, these are now referred to as "Blue Dog" Democrats.  I have to stop here and admit that I am a Fred Thompson supporter and now a delegate for him in West Virginia's GOP Convention.  I support Senator Thompson because he is the only true conservative in this year's GOP race.  He is a Reagan triple threat conservative and can back that up with his voting and campaign records.  I also believe that he is a true state's rightist in an age where States' Rights tend to be overlooked and forgotten.  Ronald Reagan was a true state's rightists in words and deeds.  My worry is that Senator Thompson will drop out of the GOP primaries if he does not win in South Carolina.  If this is the case then the Republican Party of Ronald Reagan will be gone forever.  When I look at the other GOP candidates, I don't see anyone who can carry the torch forward for the party.  John McCain can win the general election and I like some of his fiscal policies to curve wasteful spending, however on to many issues, he has shown himself to be too moderate and a little liberal.  Some examples of these include his disregard of First Amendment rights with McCain-Feingold, his stances on immigration and gun rights.  Also he has called the Flag of the Confederacy a flag of hate not heritage.  Mike Huckabee is a decent conservative, but he raised taxes, is liberal on immigration, crime, health care and his stature as a Baptist minister will make him a easy target for the left.  Rudy Guliani is a liberal on to many social issues, but good on foreign policy.  Mit Romney is a typical Massachusetts' liberal (moderate?), he will flip flop and change positions so much, I look to make sure he is not John Kerry in disguise.  Ron Paul has some good libertarian positions but can be kind of Ross Perot-like nutty.
My fear is that if Senator Thompson is knocked out of the race, then the party may splinter into two parts, a northern moderate party and a southern conservative party.  Don't kid yourselves, we  could end up having no set nominee at the national convention and cause the party to divide into different factions.  This would mean an easy victory in November for Hillary Clinton and we all know how that would be.  So I ask the voters of South Carolina to remember the days of Ronald Reagan and true conservatism and vote for Fred Thompson and revive his campaign and help elect the only candidate who is good for the party, but the nation and world as well.

WV Republican Governor Candidates

This blog is just for West Virginians.  I am disturbed by the lack of a Republican candidate for governor in West Virginia.  It is sad that we are going to abandon our state once again to the Democrats without a fight.  I understand that Joe Manchin is popular and will be hard to beat, but it can be done if Republicans just use the right tactics.  If we can convince voters that the only good thing Manchin has done in office is to get WVU and Marshall to play, we have a chance.  We need to go the the unions and convince them that more needs to be done to fix education, to fix our workmen' compensation system and fix our taxes.  We have multiple racetracks with casinos and slot machines in our state, we pay 20 cents higher per gallon of gas then our neighbors, where is this money going.  Our state is the laughing stock of the nation for our poor roads and even poorer education system.  We need to reform our state and make it more attractive to business, we need to deregulate, stop lawsuits, and put our people back to work.  We need to stop illegal immigration in our state since the federal government is too gridlocked to fix the problem.  We need to guarantee West Virginians right to bear arms in case the US Supreme Court rules against the 2nd Amendment right.  We need to end late term abortions and cut down the number of abortions in the state.  We need to end the corruption that is our electoral system in the state, where the party and union bosses corrupt most elections in the Democrat's favor and where the dead rise every four years in the south of the state to vote Democrat.  (Don't kid yourself, this stuff still goes on)  We need a state constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.  Do you think any of this stuff will get done with Joe Manchin as governor and the Democrats controlling the Legislature.  No!!  We need to pick a candidate and stick by them in this election.  We need to take the state back for ourselves and our children.  We need to put up someone who can take the fight to the people and let people see the truth.  Our state is a 3rd World Nation with a corrupt government and poor standard of living and education and until someone stands up and fights, this will only get worse.

Oil For Israel

I remember back in the 1980's when everyone talked about the arms for hostages deal President Reagan's staff offered Iran to get out our hostages.  I feel that way today as I see oil prices and gas prices drop, I wonder if President Bush has offered a similar deal to Iran.  Last week an intelligence agency offered a new report saying that Iran stopped their nuclear bomb project in 2003.  Around the same time, Israel continued to say that Iran is working just as hard as ever to construct a nuclear bomb and have never stopped trying.  The world seems to once again dismiss Israel's claims in favor of a madman in Iran and the "always reliable" United Nations.  Just before this news about Iran's nukes, oil prices were approaching one hundred dollars a barrel and gas prices were averaging three dollars and twenty cents in the US.  However right after this breaking news, oil prices are dropping down close to eighty dollars a barrel and US gas prices are dropping as well.  I just wonder how closely related theses two events are and is OPEC dropping the price of oil because of increased production or because the world has sold out Israel to Iran.  Everyone knows if Iran gets a nuclear weapon they will attack Israel and Israel knows this and probably would attack first.  Now the good news is that as I write this I see where President Bush is questioning the Intelligence brief and so is France.  I just hope the world does not sell out to get cheaper oil and in the process sell our soul to the devil.
